With each doll i wanted to give them different clothing as well as clothing that went with peoples opinion of what sort of clothes made a doll appealing or creepy. So after gathering peoples opinions i designed different clothes for each doll.
As the below doll had a very feminine face i chose to focus on giving it a dress, working on dark material and thinking with the idea of old, worn dresses. the stitching was very haphazard and irregular which i quite liked as it added to the off putting image of the doll.
The second doll i wanted to put some type of robe or hood to cover the head and face, so i used a large amount of material to create a hood and robe (with button), however it ended up quite bulky and not very tight unfortunately. The trousers were stitched inside out and then flipped round and put onto the doll like normal trousers. the upper half of the body was a ribbon tied around the torso. The third doll takes ideas from the above two dolls. The stitching and layout/hemming of the dress is a lot neater overall and with a change of material the robe and hood hung much more softly and i stitched it much tightly in.
This final doll i chose to try something different and made a jumpsuit like my original clown doll i looked at early on in the project. the jumpsuit on its own was boring so i added a flared collar and cuffs, i used paper as i didn't have the right coloured material.
